AP Literature: American Lit. Focus

Welcome to AP Literature!

Why take an AP English class?  I hope that you are motivated by more than a desire to achieve a high score on the AP test.  This class also can do more for you than help you get into a good college or guarantee collegiate success.

Ultimately, we as Christians should view English classes as opportunities to hone our communication skills.  Peter instructed us to "always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear" (1 Peter 3:15, NKJV).  This means that we are to know what we believe and then be able to present God's truth to others articulately, persuasively and confidently.  Keep the eternal focus in mind!

Events and Announcements:

  • April 28: AP testing money due. Each test is $82, so you will give $164 to Mrs. Storsberg. PLEASE do not be late with this, guys.
  • Begin reading Old Man and the Sea by Earnest Hemingway. We should begin it in class around April 28th. Buy it now if you have not already!!

A Quote to Consider . . .

"The possible's slow fuse is lit, by the Imagination."
